2NT should be forcing, as we're know to have a 4-4 spade fit, but it wrongsides 3NT opposite ♥Kx.

I'd start with 3♥. If he bids 3NT I'll let him play there, obviously. If he bids 3♠ I'll bid 3NT to offer a choice.

Anyway, I'll just bid 4♠, The hand is so stuffed with extras that it should be no problem taking 10 or 11 tricks. You can always construct hands across so that 3NT/4S makes/not and vice-versa, but I wouldn't bother with it.

Not unless I'm 100% sure that for instance 3NT now is a proposal to play, offering choice of games.

there is more room when your suit is spades--IMO you would probably be better off
coming up with a system for when your suit is hearts and then add a wrinkle when it
is spades:) not a useful post but hopefully a tactical one.

I followed gnasher's route, won 12 when partner passed 3NT with

Not sure if this hand proves much, ♦J was the key, LHO had 1 ace so hearts wouldn't be a threat. 4♠ was punished because clubs were 5-1 (but spades 4-1 would had been just as good)
