what does the x by east on the third bid mean? the player was mad cause her partner passed. this was a
pickup team game. anyhow east left stating he thought it was an expert game.
it is obvious west should have raised hearts at first bid but i really dont know what the double means.

aguahombre will say it is penalty and that these days all the doubles are takeout and how stupid that is, some other people will agree, whereagles will quote R/S saying it is takeout. There will be a small pointless disagreement between gnasher and gwnn on whether cards/optional double is a better name for this. Gszes will write something with a lot of ))))))))))).
... and I can prove it with my usual, flawless logic.
