I should be interested in some feedback from Uday, Georgi, Barmar or whoever is in the know, whether there is any point in users reporting on card play errors made by GIB, however gross or obvious, whether in this forum or by direct hand export.

Based on very limited evidence I get the feel that GIB's card play logic is a black art beyond the comprehension of mere mortals who program it. A matter of winding it up and then unleashing it on the public, sink or swim; while the bidding technique, while also somewhat based on sims, does appear to obey a framework of rules and priorities that can be tweaked.

If the quality of its card play is truly beyond control, then at least we users need waste no time bringing its flakier plays to your attention.
Psych (pron. saik): A gross and deliberate misstatement of honour strength and/or suit length. Expressly permitted under Law 73E but forbidden contrary to that law by Acol club tourneys.

Psyche (pron. sahy-kee): The human soul, spirit or mind (derived, personification thereof, beloved of Eros, Greek myth).
Masterminding (pron. mPosted ImagesPosted ImagetPosted Imager-mPosted ImagendPosted Imageing) tr. v. - Any bid made by bridge player with which partner disagrees.

"Gentlemen, when the barrage lifts." 9th battalion, King's own Yorkshire light infantry,
2000 years earlier: "morituri te salutant"

"I will be with you, whatever". Blair to Bush, precursor to invasion of Iraq

BBO have said they will do nothing about GIB's play- reports to the forum are just for fun. I don't think they ever did anything after buying/licensing it from Ginsberg except for the release of advanced GIB (daily) which just allows more thinking time.

Reports in the forum are not for fun. They are not skipped for sure, just not every report has certain reply as solution. Some solutions are not coming immediately.

New version coming supposedly tonight will have improved play fixes noticeable mostly for basic robots.

Time to time there are fixes in all aspects.

Version after this would have also play improvement regarding some weird play where GIB plays random cards supposedly "knowing" declarer has good plan. But not always declarer has this plan.

Does this include not popping honors in second seat when declarer might have to guess?

Yes, that would be the main point.

Still could be random card, but random small or something which won't give extra overtrick or even to be decider trick for contract to be made. With MP scoring that could reflect quite.
