Pessimistic valuation - 4Q's (4 x 1.5) + 2J's (2 x 0.75) + 1-10 (0.25)= 7.75. Adjust down for 3334.
I'll pass then remove partner's double to 2N.

This seems to be a popular problem just at the moment. I still think the hand is worth about 8.

I am willing to try 2NT... I dont devalue my QJs as much in notrump as in a suit contract and I do have the club stopper.

Part of the problem is that if I pass now and then bid 2NT over partner's double I am not sure he'll think it is natural - we play scrambling/goodbad/etc in so many situations this may look like one too without discussion.

Siegmund, you are not allowed to overbid by a queen when you have all the queens. It is illegal.

Scrambling to the 3-level over 2C is new to me.
Please note: I am interested in boring, bog standard, 2/1.

I believe the English call it the Irish Scramble and the Germans attribute it to the Poles.

OK, then it is a Lancashire Scramble here in Yorkshire, and vice versa.

According to bergen evaluation, there are only 8 starting point in the south's hand,so pass bid is a better solution.

Pass is easy at this point, it the re-opening dble that is likely to come our way. For me it is not mandatory that partner re-opens. I think I would pass again if he doubled.
