Forcing

Edit: Also promises real heart support
I once yelled at my partner for discarding the 'wrong' card when he was subjected to a squeeze that I allowed by giving the wrong count with too high a card. Now he's allowed to pitch aces when the opponents have the king in the dummy. At trick 2. When he could have followed suit. And blame me.

This is not an interesting bridge hand. Also, 3 should be forcing if 2 was forcing and double would have been for takeout.

I lean towards it being forcing, but in general I think 13+ Mayor support should be given via cue-bid.

Also, he rates to not have a heart void when he leads the 3.

Besides playing for fun, most people also like to play bridge to win

2S was forcing one round.
3H is competitive .... not forcing .
3D would have been forcing ( " new suit at 3-level by unpassed partner " )

I agree with this he's inviting game but not forcing, how else do you invite game and compete to 3h)

He could have bid 3c, but maybe game relies on you having a double fit and so mentioning his 5 card suit along the way helps you co-operate.

It also puts you in a good spot when they keep bidding clubs. You'll know if you should bid on or double if they bid again.

Well you could Double and then bid hearts; or just start with a cue raise. How many ways of inviting partner do we need?

responder's new suit is forcing a round, but not for opener generally,3h implied some values in suit,it is not forcing and constructive raise .

Forcing for me.

With, say, five spades, three hearts and a flat 11 count I would bid 3 first time.

Playing Acol it would be NF though.
