Today,while playing a tourney,and it was the last board,with
plenty of time on the clock,we landed up in a contract of 6 diamonds.
a very strange hand mine had 2 voids..
however on the opening lead,my partner declarer, was somewhat overcome,
and considered his plan of play,as dummy i could see he could make
13 tricks,but needed a little thought. 6diamonds no problem
when west typed in chat "Hurry up" i typed in plenty of time last board,
then partner decided how to play the hand.about trick 5 West again, typed in why so slow.
i typed in West "you plse claim no tricks.."
Then he typed in "thats Cheating" remember i can not see opps cards.
Agree Dummy shld remain silent, but i felt west was putting undue pressure
on my partner...... i now called the TD.and said to west i am calling the td for your verbal abuse,
when the hand was whipped away.6d+1 recorded.
I had taken a movie,in an attempt to record the conversations.
West then typed in chat "report verbal abuse F*ck off Hows that"
I want support to help me how does one record chat??? or have i done
correctly-- it will be somewhere in my computer.

WHAT I NEED IS THE PROCEDURAL STEPS TO RECORD THIS SORT OF ABUSE PLEASE.
Can support please guide me. regards

Instructions are likely to vary depending on which interface you are using, which you do not state. Probably easier if using the downloaded Windows client (at least I know the solution in that environment but not the web version, although there may be one). Problem is that as the file is not encrypted there is no guarantee that it has not been doctored.

It's the same procedure regardless of the interface. Take a screenshot, send to abuse@bridgebase.com.

1. Scroll down to the offensive chat, to make sure it shows on the screen.
2. Press the PrtScr key on your keyboard. It is usually located right after F12. Nothing visible happens when you press that key, and that's normal.
3. Open Word or Paint and press CTRL+V. The image of whatever was on your screen should appear now.
4. Save it (File > Save)
5. Email to abuse@bridgebase.com

I suspect that the main objection people have to the way abuse@ works is that the perpetrators are not publicly shamed, drawn, quartered, executed, and their bodies burned, ashes scattered in some mud pit.

True, actually, I pass along a fair number of reports of abuse to abuse, and I don't even know what happens to the bastards I report (if they were innocent, i wouldn't pass it along). I would love to see them drawn and quartered myself. Sigh... but that is the way it works.

Actually I don't think that this is complete. While the screenshot method certainly works in both interfaces, and is the more difficult method to fake, there is (exclusively to the windows client) an option to log chat to a text file saved locally. There is a chat tab in the options menu, with a "log all chat" checkbox. It may be that Abuse will only accept the screenshot method precisely because the auto-log method can be faked.

It is suggested to me that holding down the <Alt> key before depressing the PrtScr key may be preferable, as this copies to the clipboard only the active window rather than the entire screen.

AFAIK they don't accept the .txt log.

Maybe, but this can be more confusing in practice. I think the simpler we keep it the better.

Agree with this, having 1 person at the table behaving inappropriately is already too much. You may have made matters worse.
