1 - (Dbl) - ?

After a major suit opening we play 2/1 gameforcing, Bergen raises and a gameforcing 2NT fit-response.
When LHO infodoubles the frequency of the 2NT respons drops to almost 0.
We would like to change it to 10+ with three card support, leaving Bergen untouched.

Any thoughts?

Hi:

Transfer bids.

1M-(X)-one under bid shows a const. raise 7+-10 or 8-10

1M-(X)-2M raise is 'blocking'

According to 'your' style somewhere between 0-7 and 4-7

1M-(X)-2NT*11+ M raise

I use shortness showing bids after 2N* showing min. and max. hands.

Regards,
Robert

After the DBL, you can combine Bergen and Jordan ( here I selected 2NT! to show the lower Bergen raise and the jump-in-the-other-major to show the upper Bergen raise ):

1S - ( X ) - ??

2NT! = lower Bergen
3H-jump = upper Bergen
3C/3D = fit-showing jumps
3S = preemptive

Likewise for Hts:
1H - ( X ) - ??

2NT! = lower Bergen
2S-jump = upper Bergen
3C/3D = fit-showing jumps
3H = preemptive

If you adopt xfers/1MX (Cappeletti), you also have JS mini splinters available, so that 2NT is always balanced with major suit support. You still have game splinters as before --as well as invitational sequences with another suit and opener's major or just another suit. Redouble followed by new suit becomes game forcing.

Does infodouble mean something special I don't know of, or is it just a takeout double?
Please let me know about any questions or interest or bug reports about GIB.

That's a translation error. Take out it is.
