Matchpoints, Red vs White, Third Seat
♠Qxxx ♥Q ♦Jxxxx ♣Axx
2♣ - 2♦
2♥ - 2♠
3♣ - 3♦
3♥ - 4♣
5♠ - 6♣
7♣ - ?
2♠ was Kokish, 6♣ showed 1 or 4 keycards outside of spades. This field is quite good.

I think bidding 7♥ puts too much faith in partner having the ♥J or seven of them so I guess I pass and pray for partner's forgiveness when plus 2140 isn't good enough.

Partner can easily have ♥ AKxxxx ♦A ♣KQJxxx or ♥AKxxxx ♦AK ♣KQJ10x, it would be quite a gamble to convert. If partner was looking for the heart queen he might have tried 6D last round.
Please note: I am interested in boring, bog standard, 2/1.

I trust my partner that he would investigate for heart grand if singleton Q is enough for conversion. But I suspect partner holds at least some spots in hearts for that strong biding when he knows we have only preference to clubs.

Hi Roger,
This seems like an easy pass. Even if 7H is cold, you will do fine being in 7C.

Pass.
"Gibberish in, gibberish out. A trial judge, three sets of lawyers, and now three appellate judges cannot agree on what this law means. And we ask police officers, prosecutors, defense lawyers, and citizens to enforce or abide by it? The legislature continues to write unreadable statutes. Gibberish should not be enforced as law."

Pass. You have tools to find a grand while others may struggle. Besides that, there's no way to find out about the ♥J here.
Bidding 7♥ is losing bridge IMO even though it may be right a lot of the time. You are taking a stab at an unknown card to try to turn a 80% board into a 90% board.

Partner could have bid 6S/6Nt as pick a slam to suggest 7H despite clubs being agreed.
From Psych "I mean, Gus and I never see eye-to-eye on work stuff.
For instance, he doesn't like being used as a human shield when we're being shot at.
I happen to think it's a very noble way to meet one's maker, especially for a guy like him.
Bottom line is we never let that difference of opinion interfere with anything."
