Pass, the most sensible choice, and hope for reopening.

IMO _P = 10, _X = 4, 2 = 3, 2 = 2, 1N = 1
The difficulty is in passing quickly :)

The whereagles of this world can do OK if they make sure to ask for a stop if needed for 3NT and overcall this 1NT relieving PD of the burden of making the wrong choice to balance or not.

However, I am not saying that 1NT is my call here, but it can work out.

But Mike, can you recover from showing a minor 2-suiter? If partner bids 3m, are you planning to pass?

You have 16 HCP btw.

Hmmm ... you might want to use 2 as a stopper ask, but you do need that bid for other purposes. And .... can you find your fit after having discovered that you don't have a stopper? Finally, when p has a positional guard you reach a wrong-sided 3NT.
The world would be such a happy place, if only everyone played Acol :) --- TramTicket

Pass.

The only other bid is X, ... the add. high card strength
may be enough compensation for the missing shape,
but of course you may end up in a 4-2 fit.
