South plays 6. The auction was 6-P-P-P. 6 showed this exact hand. It does not come up that often, but boy was it nice here.

The lead is a diamond.

You are so excited about your 6 convention finally coming up, and hitting pay dirt, that you yell out, "I claim! Making!" You then have a sinking feeling.

You do not care about overtricks, because this is IMPs. However, down one would be devastating. So, can you back up your claim and state a line where 6 cannot possibly fail?
"Gibberish in, gibberish out. A trial judge, three sets of lawyers, and now three appellate judges cannot agree on what this law means. And we ask police officers, prosecutors, defense lawyers, and citizens to enforce or abide by it? The legislature continues to write unreadable statutes. Gibberish should not be enforced as law."

This is one of the tea-towel hands.
In fact I even think it's been given on the BBO forums before now...
If you do a search you can probably find it again!

I have to draw trumps in case clubs are 0-4 and hearts 4-0. This leaves me with only one trump which I must use for ruffing a diamond after I lose a club trick. So I have no entries to the hand, other than the second diamond ruff.

I have to unblock 10 on the 4th trump. Then I play clubs. East must refuse to win the 3rd club, So if clubs are 0-4 and trumps 4-0 it looks pretty hopeless. I must be missing something.
The world would be such a happy place, if only everyone played Acol :) --- TramTicket

Search for tea-towel Helene.
Please note: I am interested in boring, bog standard, 2/1.

Like Helene, I was ready to bet on the defence; but shamed by Frances, I eventually stumbled on the solution :P

Only saw it because it is a problem, even though it is not objectively hard. Nice hand.
