If I can open 2S showing 5-5 spades & another, I do that.
Otherwise I pass.

Pass unless I have a gadget, or am playing a very light opening system.

So much backpedalling, so little time...(or space) PASS

2♠ as descriped is ok. Without that convention I pass.

Caveat. I open light. This is a 1♠ opener for me (although at times, I might treat this as a four card suit and open 1♦). I would open 1♠ even if the ♦Jack was exchanged for a small diamond.

Pass. Even if playing the5-5, 2♠ gadget; it would be prudent to pass.If P is on lead a ♠ lead will most likely lose a trick.

2♠. 5-5 openers are very nice when they come up. I can't remember the last time to see it lose (ie as opposed to passing). Too bad they're very rare.
... and I can prove it with my usual, flawless logic.
