imp, both vul, you 1st seat holding T9xxx A9 AJ8xx T. Will you open? If open, will you open 1 or 1 or 2 (showing S and another suit, 55+, weak)?

If I can open 2S showing 5-5 spades & another, I do that.
Otherwise I pass.

Caveat. I open light. This is a 1 opener for me (although at times, I might treat this as a four card suit and open 1). I would open 1 even if the Jack was exchanged for a small diamond.

Pass. Even if playing the5-5, 2 gadget; it would be prudent to pass.If P is on lead a lead will most likely lose a trick.

2. 5-5 openers are very nice when they come up. I can't remember the last time to see it lose (ie as opposed to passing). Too bad they're very rare.
... and I can prove it with my usual, flawless logic.
