You hold:
Scoring: MP

And the bidding went (LHO starting):
3 - pass - 3NT* - all pass
(*) was thinking a bit before bidding 3NT.

Note: perhaps it's important for some, and I know many don't notice this, but it's matchpoints...

I'll lead a heart. 4th highest of my longest and strongest....

A club lead can be eliminated straight off. I leave leading from KJx to others, so it's between a heart and a diamond. If RHO had long strong hearts he might have bid them, whereas he probably wouldn't bother bidding diamonds, so it's that that makes me favour a heart.

This seems like an attacking situation to me. So mark me down for a S lead. Leads from J 4th don't work for me very often. Besides, who can make up their mind with 2 suits eaqually horrible? I think any S card would do.

i agree with bob, and i'd lead the K (i know, that could be very bad - but so could blocking partner's suit)

I lead J, wanted to unblock since I suspected partner had long s. It held, so I lead K. Partner overtook, played Q and 9 which gave a trick to declarer. The rest was claimed since there were 14 tricks left, but we got a good result since nobody else lead :) 3NT+1 instead of 3NT+4

Spade. Might set up pard's queen; might get us 5 tricks when pard holds two aces.

The worst thing that can happen is that pard has the Qx Qx (and nothing else) and I have just rectified the count for the most painful triple squeeze I will ever experience :P .

Now I'm really confused.
If the field was making 3NT+4 how can it matter what we lead?

Was he thinking about Club entries or was he worried about unstopped or partially stopped suits? For sure he has the majors covered. He may have only one entry to clubs and if we stop the suit it is pard who will get in. I hate leading from jack fourth but I want to knock out his D stopper so count me in for a small diamond.
