Scoring: XIMP

(P) 1 (2NT) X
(3) P (P) ?

1 is 5+ cards, could be lightish; 2NT was unusual.

You must be on heavy medication to bid 3nt on that 1.
From Psych "I mean, Gus and I never see eye-to-eye on work stuff.
For instance, he doesn't like being used as a human shield when we're being shot at.
I happen to think it's a very noble way to meet one's maker, especially for a guy like him.
Bottom line is we never let that difference of opinion interfere with anything."

Double, unless I have hopes to arrange a money game against RHO.

Double. Hopefully pard lacks the imagination to lead anything but a trump.

At the table my imagination was suggesting ways that 3 could make on a cross-ruff, leading me to eschew a double (I bid 4NT), but I suppose that this is unlikely in the extreme.

Maybe I am on medication, but I bid 3NT.

I expect to make 3NT. Assuming that I make 3NT (which is certainly a heavy favorite) I would have to beat 3Dx 3 tricks to get a better result, and 4 tricks to get a significantly better result. And I would hate to get a -470 result, which is not out of the question.

All alone on my own little island....I would have simply bid 3N over 2N and stopped all this silliness. :)

Double, WTP? In recent experience, I have never encountered -470 or +100 in this situation. Meckstroth doesn't call this the "burn" vulnerability for nothing ...

Looks like I'm in a small minority. I would bid 3N.

Not enough trumps to beat a distributional diamond contract to compensate for the likely game bonus. Pard has an opener and now we have info to help us declare so lets do so.

The only worry here might be partner void in diamonds (which is impossible, he would not have passed 3). I double, and would be surprised if we do not get 500 (much more likely, 800)
