Over RKC Blackwood, 5NT commonly shows an even number of key cards with a useful side void, while 6-of-a-suit below the trump suit shows an odd number of key cards with a void in the suit bid. If your void is in a higher ranking suit, bid 6 of the trump suit instead.

I would add that many do not play RKC over
The auction that starts
1X= 4NT

I was taught that you simply respond with the number of actual aces.

Here I would respond 5D, showing one ace.

Granted this is an extremely rare auction.

I also play that following either of these bids the next step asks for Q of trumps, with a Specific King as positive response.
Although I have seen it recommended to use 6 over 5N as an ask for the void suit instead.
Of course if trumps are not spades, you may not have room for such subtleties, as is often the case in RKCB.

I do not play that the next step asks for the queen. With such little space left I prefer other methods.

5 looks like a Queen ask, seeing the hands would be helpful, I am just guessing.

As for 1 - 3nt , I refuse to have this auction on my Convention Card

Are you playing with BOTs?

As you bidding these hands with regular partners?

I had it on for one year as a splinter in the other major. Failed to survive the end of year cleanup, now it is unallocated which is not ideal: any better candidates?

I seem to remember GiB plays 1S - 3NT as a picture bid and bids voids in RKCB as described above (as always in slam bidding with GiB, don't even dream about trying any continuation other than correcting to 5M or 6M).
I wouldn't worry about obsolete bidding sequences by other robots (or players in general).

The only 3 level bid I have marked is 3 puppet (with a twist). I have not missed 3,,,NT — the reduced memory load has been a blessing.

I think it's smart to leave it blank. We can always add something in later, once we've mastered our basic system and find a cool convention worth slotting in there.

I too have had it marked as splinter, you know what I think about using that bidding space.

Hi,

it was not asked, but 4NT is not the best bid in the world.
If you think you can handle void showing answers to 4NT, you should be able to handle
something simple like 2NT .. forcing raise.

You are missing a diamond control, ok p opened and given your 19HCP ... AK in diamond
may or may not be missing, but you at least give yourself a chance to find out.

The funny thing is, if you use something like 2NT, you will discover the club at a lower
level, and your partner wont need to use void showing responses to 4NT.

With kind regards
Marlowe

1M=3NT

Exactly what it sounds like
14-16 balanced, stoppers, 3card support.

In my experience, playing with bots or pickup partners, there will be numerous auctions that make no sense at all.

Heck, even with regular partners we have auctions that make no sense! If you want to progress from kitchen bridge to duplicate and build a proper bidding system, you need regular, like-minded partners.
