3rd from even, low from odd question

This might be a dumb question bur assume that's the agreement against a suit contract.

Case 1 K J 9
Case 2 K J 9 4
Case 3 K J 9 4 3 2 and in all cases the 9 is led

Case 4 K J 9 3 2, the 2 is led.

Is it really better to lead the two in case 4 vs the nine?

So, consider the auction and why you would be leading from these specific suit constructions?

I would only add I might even lead second highest spot card I can afford from even.

As you point out the purpose is to give partner count when it will not matter to declarer..

Attitude leads vs no trump..
