It seems as if BBO redefined "free tournament" as a tournament where you don't have to pay more than 50$ (the NABC tournaments are listed there as wel). The list of free tournaments is ten times as long it seems and you have to look closely for a $0 free tournament. In the german version we now have a daily free instant turnamoent that costs 0.10$

Hope this gets fixed at some point in time or is it a preview for really free tournaments to disappear?

The 0.10 BB$ tourneys are included in the free tournament list, because they're very close to free.

If something costs 0.10, it is not free, as a financial transaction is required to acquire it!
If it were free, then I could get 100 or 1000 of them for example and they would still be free!

Workaround...use search at top right of "free" tournament window and enter the word free

Ah, yes, almost (just a few 0.10 ones remaining). Also the interface looks more "modern" (not more practicle IMHO). Interesting way to try to get me but I guess I won't. Probably should anyhow play more Sax than with the robots ....

But under European law (at least) marketers cannot provide false information, omit material details, or present facts in a deceptive way that causes a consumer to make a transactional decision they would not have otherwise made.

Just as they cannot provide services that fail to function as advertised or do not meet conformity criteria (see hundreds of bug reports here about GIBBO, in particular recent ones without reply such as this ).

Since the non-zero price is shown clearly in multiple places, I don't see how this would cause anyone to make a decision they wouldn't have made.

Perhaps. Having done a few decades of marketing, I am embarassed for your colleagues nonetheless.

The "fit for purpose" issue concerns me more, in particular as despite all the trumpet blowing, "GIBBO" makes ludicrous errors never seen before and nobody replies to the bug reports.
