Fourth Seat Now what?

Wouldn't the same problem occur if we replace north's ♦J with a small diamond? I think it's farfetched to blame north here. And look, we found north with a dead max, a hand most of you would've opened, and 3NT from the south STILL didn't make!
Of course, I anticipate the replies...
BUT Axx QTx Axxxx xx is such a good ten, and we would open most 11s, shouldn't we also open aq good ten?

So they found the lead, and ♥J was off side. What does that prove? Right, nothing. Next time West has

How many problems in this forum are created by a player not opening light? I mean if you open with 12 why not with good 11? How terrible can the difference be?
Well, as so often happens at bridge table, you could save pd for his mistake(assuming he is wrong passing that hand) by opening 1C or 3C.

I guess its a matter of trying to figure out the ramifications of what can happen on the +/- imp table, since we are non vul the diff on missing game isnt as much as if we were vulnerable, no matter what it is still a roll of the dice, and -5 isnt gonna a kill us. But over the years opening in fourth seat I have found that alot of people have no idea how good of a hand you really should have, it obiuosly has to be geared to getting to game epsecially 3nt

What mistake? 3NT is a very reasonable contract, going down in 3NT is so normal...

there is nothing wrong with 3nt, its a matter of styles, if you know partner could pass a 12-11hcp hand in second seat then you have to worry more about protecting your score, but if partner opens very light then there is no reason, so with some partners PASS conveys more information than it does with others.

Just play weak or mini NT (that opens with 11-counts!!)
3NT is indeed a very reasonable contract, the only alternative for me is 3♣ opening, but I don't have enough tricks for that... So I also open 3NT in 4th seat
