On the app, there now appears a "shop" icon. clicking on this reveals an unbelievable ripoff to buy BBO$. Markups range from 25-50%. Thus $20 of BBO$ will ding you for $30. I find this an outrageous attempt to take advantage of those who might accidentally click to buy when they can simply buy on the bridgebase web page.

Those "markups" all go to Apple or Alphabet, not to BBO. Required 30+% tax on all purchases through the App stores. It's unfortunate, but it's what it is. Luckily BBO is not solely an app-based product, so (as you said) you don't have to play that game.

This is not new, the Shop tab has been there for 2 years.
