A raise here should really show about a K extra. Partner is still there

I would not have opened, and I will pass. I don't want to open a marginal hand with rebid problems and in a suit with xxxx. Pass over 3S is easy, if partner has extras he will reopen with a X (or sometihng else) and now I can bid 4H. General rule for me, never let them push you TWO levels higher than you would have normally bid had they passed. If RHO had passed I would bid 2H. 1 level higher is acceptable under pressure so over 2S I would have bid 3H. But 2 levels and theyre just jacking you around and pard will never know if you have this, or an AQ more.

Pass. If it's our hand, partner will bid again and then I have an easy 4. A direct 4 would show a much better hand. Pass does not deny 4 hearts, it merely states that I don't have enough to "support" if I have four hearts.

Agree with Justin and Roland.

I would have bid 3 if RHO had bid 2 but I don't have enough to bid 4 on 3 so PASS !

Regarding the opening I think I'd open with the 's in place of the 's. This one can be passed even with AK A !

Now my hand got upgraded after opp's S bid and pd's dbl. My AK, 4th , A and stiff were good. It worths more than a typical 14 hcp hand.

  • Interests:My personal interests are my family and my friends. I am extremely concerned about the lives and futures of the kids (and their families) that I work with. I care about the friends I have made on BBO. Also, I am extremely concerned about the environment/ ecology/ wildlife/ the little planet that we call Earth. How much more of the world's habitat and food supply for animals do we plan on destroying. How many more wetlands are we going to drain, fill, and build on? How many more sand dunes are we going to knock down in the interests of high-rise hotels or luxury homes?

Matchpoints?

1) I would not have opened, even with 3 quicks. At matchpoints, Spades rule, and I ain't got many. I have no rebid should P respond 1 spade.

2) if forced to open this hand, I pass at this point. Partner is still sitting on the other side of the table. Partner will take some action with values.

3) maybe would have opened playing mini-roman 2D.
