My partner and I had a horrible experience today with BBO. We wanted to play in a 499r tournament. We gave our information to the Director a week in advance. He said we were in (I have email). I also have the email of the information I gave him to sign up for this tournament. And when we went to invite our partner, one of our long-term partners with a long-term ACBL number didn't show up. Someone screwed up here. Either the information was entered or wrong or the BBO system failed to confirm the record with the ACBL database in advance. Come on guys, you need to be nice to those wanting something to do during the coronavirus problem.
I don't like BBO in general because it's not user friendly and now with this fiasco, I am definitely not pleased with the program. Yes, thousands might be but this is a terrible screw up.
What I want to see, a direct line to someone who can fix problems in short order because we find out just 20 minutes before the game that we have a problem with a number, which by the way is accurate according to ACBL.org. My only guess is that the Gods who entered the number made a mistake or something like that.
Please let's not make this a future mistakes for anyone like me. I love bridge. I use Bridge Baron 7 days a week for at least 2 hours daily. I have done this for the past 30 years. They don't have issues like this.
Fix this please.

ACBL Number Mismatch

Given it was a limited tournament, each player has to tell *BBO* what their ACBL # is, so it can be checked for elegibility.
You did, your partner did not.
Each player, when registering for an ACBL tourney, is asked for their # if there is none on file.
Failing that, go to ACBL World, there is a button there labeled "Update yor ACBL #" (or similar, my usual language is spanish).
But, this is personal. Each player has to do it, and no 3rd party can do it for them.
