After 2 weeks of renewing challenges against gerardo the latest one has now timed out. This is my remaining match. From tomorrow I am travelling and will not be able to accept a challenge from him until Fri 11th Jan. Gerardo, if you could put in a challenge today I will be able to complete it before I leave.

Question - when competing against GIB, does it matter if one chooses advance or basic in the challenge? Is the GIB opp automatically advance?

We only get automatic, free upgrades to advanced bots when challenging humans.

Simplest option is just that your first challenge is against GIB #1, and your second is against GIB #2.

I think the point of the question is that there's no way to tell the difference between GIB1 and GIB2.

I was suggesting a way that we could distinguish them if they make it that far.

Yeah, I was saying you can distinguish them (make sure you know which robot in the scoreboard you are playing in each challenge / where the score should be entered) based on the order you play the challenges. Several people may not have $BB accounts set up.

I must be the luckiest bridge player alive. Hrothgar and toast1 are separated by 0.17 VPs - about half an IMP in a close match. And hrothgar coming in ahead of toast1 gives me (assuming they do end up 5th and 6th) an additional 9.67 VPs in carry-over for the next round...

and cherdano has just become even luckier, for his 9.67VP increment has now turned into an additional 13.36VPs!!

@Cherdano I'm in a similar situation lol. With 2nd-8th in our group all expecting to finish in the 110-117.1 VP range, and 5th-8th all in the 111-110 range (well... 8th is at 90 but their average has their expected value at 110). I have a lot riding on if GIB bot wins its next two matches-- 8.33 VPs.

Oh wow right now my three best results are against the three certain qualifiers (other than me)...

Well you had a pretty unlucky carryover last time, that you managed to overcome very effectively!

Seems like this is the remaining score that hasn't been updated for Group A? Which means that GIB should qualify for Round 2 quite comfortably (and keeps the possibility of a GIB vs GIB final alive...)

My match against pio_magic (http://webutil.bridg...yrenman&v3b=app) isn’t on the spreadsheet anymore.

Ugh, sorry. Excel Online has a very annoying habit of accidentally overwriting a cell when trying to search instead.
