You're playing MP's.

Your 2M opening bids show 5 cards in the Major 4+ in an undisclosed minor and less than opening values. So if you have a weak-2 in a Major you have to open 2 (Multi). What's your call?

Also, he rates to not have a heart void when he leads the 3.

2S - if we have the mechanism to show a 2-suited hand, then I'm using my toy.

Same here. That horrid 6 card suit doesn't look like Multi to me, when I have this gadget.

3, mainly to express my disdain for Lucas 2s.

pass. my spades are crap. i don't want to stress those.

i'm not short of defence. there's no rush to pre-empt. better to try to describe my hand later, for example with micheal's.

2 is not unreasonable, trading the extra spade for the terrible suit, but I'd most likely pass and see how the auction develops. Who knows what can happen? Sometimes you can get a little lucky.

2s

Using the toy. Spades is not only our most likely game but also our most likely preempt/sac and these colors are ideal for all 3 ideas. The fact that we have a pretty decent run out suit (in case p really hates spades) is only encouraging me further. With really good spades and ick diamonds I would be leaning toward using multi to show a weak 2.

Given your agreements this looks like an auto 2S.

I rank
1. 2 Lucas or whatever. If you have the perfect club in in your bag, you might as well use it.
2. 2 Multi. Might be OK were that were your only option.. But less descriptive, less consultative, and leaves opponents more room to explore.

I was willing to open 2 without your convention.

In a home team against strong opposition I held this hand as dealer, both vul.

I opened 2. The disciplined opponent holding this hand passed.
The spades are crap. So what? Double game swing for us.

You can't really think it's winning bridge to pre-empt with this hand?
