Does everyone actually play splinters over RHO's double?? I would play 4♣ here as a fit bid....

then 3♠is quite sufficent on this hand. Either way,the intention is to make life as difficult as possible for the doubler's partner.
What is this comment? I bet you my bottom dollar that a sim will say that 4♠ is making more than 37.5% of the time, probably a lot lot more than that. Every time I try and voice my opinion I keep getting this rubbish: 'Action failed: You have reached your quota of negative votes for the day'.

We had both upvotes and down votes available in the past. Then it started to be abused. Both of them were abused but they disabled the downvotes only.
For example there was a certain poster who would come daily just to use her daily quota, she would downvote certain people and upvote the other certain people, regardless of what they write.
"It's only when a mosquito lands on your testicles that you realize there is always a way to solve problems without using violence!"
"Well to be perfectly honest, in my humble opinion, of course without offending anyone who thinks differently from my point of view, but also by looking into this matter in a different perspective and without being condemning of one's view's and by trying to make it objectified, and by considering each and every one's valid opinion, I honestly believe that I completely forgot what I was going to say."

Seems like a farce to me, this guy's reputation is 'excellent', whereas I think you know as well as anyone that it is not even slightly excellent.

4♣ is a good choice if you are confident your partner will understand. Note that splinter is not universal: one poster here suggested it as a fit bid, and another upvoted that.
Redouble is not a good choice. It hides the primary feature of the hand, which is excellent spade support.
3♠ is not a good choice. Among good players, this is usually used as a weak/preemptive type bid.
I think I would choose 4♣. This may give the ops a little better chance to enter the auction, but also retains our slam chances, which are nontrivial with such wealth of controls and partner still unlimited. Whereas 4♠ is a firm auction ender.

I play 4♠ as preemptive, which this is clearly not and would value this at 12 playing points max.
2nd would be 4 clubs splinter.
