I want to nominate the opening post along with every follow-up by the OP here for all categories: http://www.bridgebas...post__p__798973
... and I can prove it with my usual, flawless logic.

I am glad this thread exists. I wish to admire the linked thread, but I don't want to pollute it with my usual crap posting

I nominate myself for Poster of the Year. Do I win by default? :D

I think PhilKing hasn't been POTY before so it's about time.

For thread of the year, I nominate the discussion about bird and anthias opening leads.

Edit: thanks mbodell for clarifying

iandayre for newcomer of the year

I think you have the wrong thread. At least the linked thread is not about Bird/Anthias so much about Pavlicek analysis (and stats related to that).

PK, Helene and Rik (Trinidad) seem obvious contenders this year along with the usual suspects (Justin, Andy, Mike). What were the other categpries - PotY, TotY and Best Newcomer?

Thanks zel but I think you listed me by reputation alone... I did not post much in 2014 and when I did it was not particularly good. You are way more worthy of a nomination than me. My vote is for PhilKing who always kills it.

Also it seems like Jinksy is the main person who keeps posting topics and interesting stuff for people to debate. They definitely keep this forum going and IMO have a good attitude for learning and dealing with criticism.

rogerclee for Bridge in the Real World Award
PhilKing for Poster of the Year
I also like Jinksy's contributions, for the reasons mentioned by phantomsac. Not sure what category to vote for him in :P

Your volume has definitely been down but over the course of the year you are, across your various accounts, still in the top 5 or so for upvotes, which indicates to the quality of those posts. I do not think volume alone is a good basis for Poster of the Year, as can be seen with previous nominations for contributors like Frances who produce a small amount of very high quality content.

Assuming that posters that joined in the second half of 2013 would be eligible, some reasonable candidates for NotY might be Endymion77, Shugart23 and Lorne50. Endymion in particular has accrued a reputation of over 50 in under 18 months, which is quite a respectable achievement now the "automatic upvotes" have stopped.

As an aside, how is it possible for an account created in 2014 to have a reputation of -1?

Admins can still downvote, so my guess is someone's finger slipped without them noticing.

Unpinning this, with sincere regrets that we don't have closure yet again. I'll start a new thread for 2015 Posty Awards.

Time for the regular reminder that I miss daveharty :(

I wanted to but there are hardly any nominations. Maybe I should anyway.

Well we could do a POTY vote but it is TOTY that is the most interesting one IMO and we have only two candidates for that so far. Could we get one or two more?
