Pretty nice hand. Given the awful stuff I open this is still only an invite to me but if your opening standards are high I could see upgrading this to a force.

I am inclined just to blast 5♦. Partner could have three aces but we also need the ♣K and quite possibly the ♣Q for slam. 3NT could be right but if p doesn't have ♦A we probably need two heart stoppers.

Bid 3♦ Your initial response of 1D showed less than 16HCP. A rebid of 3♦ promises long strong diamonds giving south the option of passing if very weak, 3NT 5♦ or slam.

This is not the way the vast majority of players, including experts, play. Even those who play strong jump shifts (and many do not) have more detailed requirements for the jump shift than merely hcp
