Pretty nice hand. Given the awful stuff I open this is still only an invite to me but if your opening standards are high I could see upgrading this to a force.

I am inclined just to blast 5♦. Partner could have three aces but we also need the ♣K and quite possibly the ♣Q for slam. 3NT could be right but if p doesn't have ♦A we probably need two heart stoppers.

Bid 3♦ Your initial response of 1D showed less than 16HCP. A rebid of 3♦ promises long strong diamonds giving south the option of passing if very weak, 3NT 5♦ or slam.
