Can't understand why Magnus took so long to play 17..Ndf6. Still, great game and great prep from Vishy - such a class act. Game on!

27 b3 . The sort of position Magnus likes. Will he be able to convert it into a win?

I hate all reporters here. I like Karlovich, of course someone had to ask him about it, so you might as well do it yourself. Then they asked more or less the same question 5 times. Awful, cringe worthy stuff. Have they absolutely no sense on what they're doing?

At the best of times the conferences can be a bit awkward because one or both of the players are quite withdrawn but that was absurd. Remeber this from last year lol: https://www.youtube....h?v=lwR9ZryWJWk

Well that was a really obnoxious question by the Norwegian reporter. That's a large part of why these press conferences are awful. But the players can also be acting all Rainman. When Karlovich asked him yesterday "you changing your response to 1. d4, does it mean you're still looking for the best defense?" Carlsen replied (exact quote:) "Maybe."

To be fair, the whole idea of a press conference for a chess match is pretty laughable to begin with. I mean if the players want to sit down and comment on some lines of thought during the game, that's pretty cool, but to field questions from an audience who clearly isn't thinking on the same level as the competitors is predictably hopeless.
