Can someone please tell me if you can earn ACBL points if you and your partner share the same I.P. address. I don't want to pay to play if identical IP invalidates points earned. Thanks for any input.

No problem. See this thread: http://www.bridgebas...-the-same-room/
Is someone spreading a rumor that this is a problem? It seems strange that we got two questions about the same thing just a day apart.

i don't understand why people cheat on bbo. BBO is just for fun or to practise yourself with your pd/ someone else. It is not the final of bermuda! Also if people really want to cheat, they can telephone or communicate through skype etc... We can never stop them. But i think there is no good for them. They are wasting their time! Frankly speaking, if i was playing the final of bermuda and i had a way to cheat, i would do it!!

Why?

because all will remember the world champion and no one cares about the second like last year, we know Netherlands won the BB, but i think only 50% people know USA2 was the second . world champion is really important. another ex: on the final board of BB in 2003, Hamman did sth very "smart".
