Here's an interesting hand from the club today...

given OP 3d now.

Pretty close to x and 2d first time then over 2h I could bid 3c which must be forcing.

My two cents.

With a spade void, 3 hearts, and 6 not-so-great clubs this hand is not good enough to double (gasp!)

Here's a thread you may have read.

So I'd overcall 2.

As it is this didn't work out too badly. I think pass is probably right to be honest, but if that's not your bag then I think 3 is more than enough.

Thanks, very interesting Fhread. If I had read that before today I may have stayed out of trouble :)
Who'd have thought I shouldn't start with a X holding 19hcp.....

very interesting hand.

fwiw I pulled out my old copy(`1994) of takeout doubles by Mike Lawrence

If I understand it:

It seems x and rebidding 2c was great and not forcing.

1s is limited to a really bad 9 hcp.

could not find what 2h rebid promised or denied.
