our problem, the English speakers (the Americans too), is that there are damn few words in English that have no vowels and we are as a consequence doomed to feel a need to insert one somewhere in a word we find with none. B)

Good hand for specific aces. But without such a convention, I'd have opened 1, jumpshift to 3. Opening 2 just doesn't allow you enough room to show both suits, and you're hardly gonna get passed out in 1...

4NT to ask for specific aces might run into the spade ace and what then? It seems a bit dangerous to me.

Casaba, if I could prove you were a fool, I would keep it to myself ---since I agree with considerably more than half your posts. I will try to spell it right when I just choose to employ sarcasm.

When Hts are agreed, Meckwell plays 4S! as RKC and 4NT! as Exclusion ( Sp void ).
Whether they play it after an early Sp response is the question:

2♣-2♠
3♥-3NT
4♣-4♥
4NT! ( RKC for Hts, excluding the Sp Ace ) - 5 ( 1 key )

seems like an easy 3 rebid... pard will probably bid 3NT or 4 and it might go, say

(4 4)

4NT 5
