Assuming the latter: In college, my chemistry professor was discussing the mathematics of oxidation-reduction. He suggested that if we had trouble with the percentages that we not tell anyone but instead go home and secretly peruse the fifth grade text of our little sister. He then worked an example and screwed it up. In a class of 120 or so, not a soul offered help with finding the location of the error.
