Scoring: IMP

The bidding is starting with partner 2-(3)-4-(5) all pass (or so I wish B) )

1. Do you agree with 4?

2. What do you lead against 5?

1. sure, why not? I might have bid 3 on the way, but 4 is ok.

2. J, to keep the lead if necessary/possible.

A non heart lead is way too deep for me. I hope partner can win the ace and play a spade through the king. Even if we can start ace of spades spade ruff, we still need a third trick, and if that trick is the ace of hearts (seems very likely for a trick that our weak 2 bidding partner would have) a heart lead would have been fine anyways. Leading a spade is aiming at a very narrow target of having 3 tricks without the ace of hearts and one of them going away if we fail to lead a spade.

A low heart, so we can get a spade through.

Also, I would really like partner to know the heart count.

I may well have led the A, but this post persuaded me that the heart is better.
On a bad day the 3rd trick that gets away after the heart lead is partner's spade ruff, but in every other case the heart lead should work at least as well.
That's impossible. No one can give more than one hundred percent. By definition that is the most anyone can give.
