Are there any guides on Precision that are relatively standard and up to date? For example, would C.C. Wei's system still be sort of the "standard" precision if you were to sit down with somebody and agree to play precision without too much further discussion?

I'm interested in reading a guide on more or less standard-ish precision, and might decide to try it out with a friend, just for kicks.

I've always thought that Jannerstein's book on Precision was the best treatment commonly available

Precision in the 90s by Barry Rigal is decent enough so long as he is sticking to "standard" treatments, but the section on relay bidding is horrific...

Predision Today by Berkowitz and Stanley has a similar approach to Rigal (nebulous diamond, 14-16 NT), and is concise. It also has some nice current stuff (1C-1D-1H as a relay showing either hearts or a big balanced hand, for example).

Get CC Wei's orginal book, The Precision Bidding System in Bridge. It may not be the best version of Precision, nor the latest, nor the best written book, but it is the "standard." If you sit down and say nothing more than, "Precision?" Then this is the standard. There is also a 10-page pamphlet, Summary of Precision, that might prove useful to you.

The following link will take you to the Baron-Barclay page to purchase these: http://www.baronbarc...KAUTHWEICC.html
