Just to make sure that the encouraging message amidst the many posts in the other thread has gone through: there will be coverage of the World Youth Team Championships in Bangkok, starting on Sunday the 30th (Saturday in North America).

Unless something miraculous happens at the last minute, we will be broadcasting from 1 table throughout. 20-board matches in the round-robin, 16-board segments in the semi-finals and finals.

For full schedule, go to:

We do not know which matches we get. This will likely be decided the evening before next day's play: 12-14 hours in advance. When we get closer to the end of the RR, it will probably be decided during an ongoing match, because the organisers want to have a look at the standing first.

Until we hear otherwise, it's the plan to broadcast from the juniors' series only, but we can't rule out that we get the odd match from the schools' event.

Nice to see it actually happening :)

I'm surprised there are no English Juniors - did they fail to qualify or were the EBU short on funds?

No need to answer - got it now - they failed to qualify :), coming 7th only at the 2005 European Youth Championship in Riccione, Italy; another notable casualty was the Netherlands.
