I kibbed this hand; the expert on S bid 4♥ and said to me:"what if they bid 4♠?"
A fitshowing jump was not possible anymore after 2♠ but ♣ was the key suit. Is there any solution in general? Actually the opps passed and the result was 450 for 60%.

For me, 4♣ would be a fit-jump. But I wouldn't do it on this hand, too much in diamonds and too little stuff in my long suits.

What I would really like to is a 3♠ splinter, but sadly that isn't a jump anymore.

If you're playing Robson/Segal's methods, then 2NT is the bid.

If opps go to 4♠, at least North will know pard has an offensive hand that is not of the fit-bid type. That means scattered honors, 4 hearts and very likely a spade singleton.

Whether to double or pass 4♠, that's another matter, but I believe 2NT is the best way to send the message across.

You should still have more ways to raise in this position. 4♥ was no doubt meant as "no preempt over preempt" but I think that is incorrect here. You need to make clear to partner what kind of hand you have.

For me the fit-showing bids here are:

2NT: Invitational exactly
3♥: Constructive but not invitational
3♠: GF mixed raise
3NT: GF high card raise (no shortness!)
4♣♦: fit jump
4♥: distributional raise to 4♥

There is no splinter, though, buf for that we have a scale of 3 bids of GF raises with different ODR: 3NT with much defence, 3♠ inbetween and 4♥ with much offence.

Then there's the hand type "I'm going to know what to do after 4♠ anyway" but that's quite rare.

ehhhmmmm.... I know that the ♣-suit is too weak for a fitshowing jump, I posted this hand because it caused my thoughts in general, whether it is possible to introduce a good side suit in this situation: weak jump overcall and one has a fit and a good side suit (sorry for my mistake! Please pretend that the ♣-suit is stronger!); and how to distinguish beween different types of hands with fit.
